Thanks for being a member of my traffic and conversion sites.
It's Monday again and time to talk about how to Master Yourself for success. Those who are successful and accomplishing their goals have the "inner game" running like a fine-tuned machine. They know exactly what they want and why they want it. They can motivate themselves to get up early and stay up late. They know how to avoid distractions and stay focused on the mission and the best path to get there.
They aren't super-human. Anyone can do it ... if they learn the right information and follow the right steps.
It starts by having clarity on what you are trying to achieve and why you want to achieve it.
Why are you here? What are you trying to accomplish with getting traffic and building an online income?
When I started back in 2001, my goal was to earn enough to replace my income from my job. I wasn't happy at work and wanted more control over my life. I wanted to have the freedom to spend more time with my family. Most of all, I wanted to be able to give my wife and kids the life that I wanted them to have. I could see the "ideal life" in my head and I was going to try to get us there.
So again, I ask ... why are you here? Write it down. Be clear and precise.
If your goal is to replace your current income and be able to do this full-time, then what is your number? What is the exact amount you need to earn to accomplish that. When I started, that first milestone for me was $6,000 per month. Then I could quit my job.
You need a precise number that is your goal. You cannot see all the steps that it will take to get to your number, but you need a measuring stick.
It's time to brainstorm now. What will your life look like, if you hit that goal?
This is a critical step, because it is the vision of the bigger, brighter future that will keep you working, even when it's hard.
Does that vision get you excited? If not, then you have picked the wrong goal or you haven't picked a big enough number. Sounds crazy, but if you aren't excited to get to your goal, you will quit before you ever get there.
Accomplishing this goal is going to be 10 times harder and take 10 times longer than you think. Would you be willing to keep going during that time if you just "kinda wanted" to accomplish the goal?
Pick big goals. Otherwise, you might just decide that you would rather watch television.
Now, turn that goal into a "who". Who are you doing this for?
We will generally work much harder for someone else, then we will for ourselves. Is it your spouse, who can quit their job or stop worrying about money if you hit this goal? Is it your kids, who you want to pay the down-payment on their first home, or pay for their college? Do you want to make your parents proud? Do you want to show your doubting "friends" and in-laws that they misjudged you?
This becomes a powerful motivator.
When you sit down to work on your goal, ask yourself "Who needs me to be on my 'A' game right now?". On a daily basis, go back to the vision that you have for the future and imagine yourself achieving that goal.
Keeping yourself motivated and focused is one of the keys to Master Yourself. I hope this message will help you do that.
